The first exoplanet found outside of our galaxy

A team of Astronomers believe that they have found signs of the first planet ever to be discovered outside of our galaxy.

So far, around 5000 exoplanets have been discovered inside the Milky Way. This time, however, the exoplanet was discovered in the Messier 51 galaxy, which is around 28 million light-years away from the Milky Way. The discovery was made by NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Telescope.

The researchers have stated that more data is necessary, in order to verify the veracity of their interpretation of the data.
