Thailand on the road towards decriminalization of marijuana

Following the examples of an increasing number of numerous European countries who have either legalized or decriminalized marijuana, as well as Canada, some states in the US, Mexico, Uruguay, and South Africa, Thailand has started a move towards decriminalizing marijuana.

This would make Thailand the first country in Asia to decriminalize the substance.

The main culprit is the leader of the Bhumjai Thai Party, Health Minister Anutin. He has stated the numerous health benefits and has called for urgent policy in developing marijuana and hemp for medical uses.

The recreational use of cannabis is now in a gray area.
