EU and US to decrease methane emissions by 2030; China and Russia slammed

More than 80 countries have agreed to the proposed framework at the COP26 climate summit at Glasgow, which aims to reduce global methane emissions by 30% by the end of the decade.

Ursula von der Leyen, the leader of the EU Commission, has said that the agreement is going to “immediately decrease the rates of climate change”.

One of the signatories was Brazil, which is a major methane emitter.

However, China, Russia, and India, which are the world’s most major emitters, haven’t signed onto the pledge. The President of the United States Joe Biden has already addressed Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, saying they have made a “big mistake”.

Opinion: This is a disgrace for these countries, and they should be forced to house all climate migrants. They should be economically sanctioned, so they also pay their fair share towards fixing climate change. Not following climate and pollution regulations should be looked at as seriously as declaring war.
