Day 24: Atrocities at the speed of sound
Here’s our recap of the latest transgressions against liberty and the most basic human rights.
The city of Mariupol has been surrounded and besieged for weeks. Attempts to evacuate citizens have repeatedly failed. Russia has been consistently targeting civilian buildings since the beginning of the siege of Mariupol. Buildings, in front of which the word “children” had been written with massive letters, have been vaporized by Russian missiles, which is not unexpected, as Russia used to deliberately target civilians in Syria during its involvement, aiding Bashar al Assad. The most significant crimes against humanity Russia had committed in Mariupol until recently were the bombing of a hospital’s maternity ward and the bombardment of a theatre full of hundreds of civilians who had taken shelter there.

Now, however, there are new horrific atrocities being committed by the Z regime – citizens of Mariupol are getting abducted, after which they are forcefully taken to Russia. This is something right out of the Soviet playbook, where thousands of Ukrainians and other nationalities used to get deported to Siberia. After getting deported, Russians would take their place, diluting the local population, and making claims for independence unfeasible. This type of population exchange is something we are probably going to witness during this war. After cities fall, a chunk of their population is going to get deported to an unknown location in fascist Russia, after which Russians would move into their homes. This would make it easier for Russia to “subdue” the local population, create puppet republics, or outright annex the freshly repopulated regions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense had called on the local authorities on Mariupol to unconditionally surrender to Russian forces by 5 a.m. Moscow time on Monday. This demand was fully rejected, the brutal siege continues.
The Russian horde has suffered a pushback near Mykolaiv, severely impeding their progress towards Odesa. The Russian offensive has been halted on many fronts, which is slowly turning the war into trench warfare.
In eastern Ukraine, Russia launched missiles at an elderly home, killing 56 residents, leading to their complete liberation and denazification.
Russia has claimed that it launched a series of hypersonic missiles aimed at military targets and fuel storage facilities last Sunday. This would mark the first known use of this type of missile in combat.
Thousands of Russians are now fleeing their homeland, as the federation is becoming increasingly more authoritarian and fascist. On the 18th of March, Putin held a massive rally at the largest stadium in Russia, celebrating the 8-year anniversary of the annexation of Crimea. The rally was attended by tens of thousands of people, and it looked highly reminiscent of similar rallies in Germany during the 1930s and 1940s.

On Wednesday, Putin went on national television, with a purely Stalinist message:
"The Russian people will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and will simply spit them out like a gnat that accidentally flew into their mouths — spit them out on the pavement. I am convinced that such a natural and necessary self-purification of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity, cohesion and readiness to respond to any challenges."
Putin has called upon a new purge of society, and no Russian is going to be safe. The Z regime is going to target anyone who yearns for freedom and democracy. This is the new reality in Russia.
