Bulgaria has purchased 10 000 doses of the new French Sanofi vaccine

The parliament has approved the decision to purchase 10 000 does of the new French COVID-19 vaccine “Sanofi/Glaxosmithkline”, as a part of the vaccine sharing program of the European Commission.

The new vaccine is not meant for the initial immunization for COVID-19, but rather for the immunization of people who have either already had COVID-19, or people who have already been immunized with a different vaccine and/or are immunocompromised.

This is a part of the efforts of the EU to provide access to a wide range of vaccines to its citizens in every member-state. The first doses of the vaccine are expected to reach the shelves of vaccination centers in Bulgaria in early to mid-2022.
