243 people have become victims of COVID-19 in Bulgaria in the last 24 hours

A record number of people are dying in Bulgaria. The situation is paradoxically much worse than it was at the same time last year. During September 2020 around 200 people succumbed to COVID-19, while in September 2021 over 2000 people have died. If the new measures don’t curb the rapid spread of the virus, the future looks bleak.

Out of 51 688 PCR tests conducted, 5 863 have been positive, which adds up to around 11.3% of the tested.

Currently hospitalized are a total of 7 128 people.

608 patients have been admitted to intensive care, while 243 have succumbed to the illness.

2022 people have recovered.

15 166 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
